Overview and Program Description
The Wakefield Estate is an historic 23-acre property which features formal gardens, specimen trees, nurseries, an orchard, two ponds and a stream, a greenhouse, open fields and woodlands. You will be involved in the maintenance of this unique landscape. Work will include landscape maintenance such as planting, pruning, watering, mulching for which training will be provided. You will work both independently and as a team, under the supervision of Wakefield Estate staff.

To be eligible, you must be a responsible, capable, and energetic high school Junior or Senior, or college Freshman interested in nature, horticulture, history and/or community service. Experience working in the landscape is of value, but not required. Applicants must be able to work all six 4-day weeks and arrange for transportation to and from the estate. Interns receive a weekly stipend.

The farm is located in Holliston next to the golf course. We produce fruits, flowers, vegetables and poultry. We operate a farm kitchen and a small market store. So you can see why we are always looking for young people to assist us in some aspects of daily operations.
We have a lot of young people currently employed. However with sports and other conflicts we never seem to have enough hands. We are open 7 days  a week year round  We are flexible, it can be a few hours a week or more if schedules match. Obviously some of the jobs are seasonal, but would like an opportunity to connect.
Some tasks the kids are currently performing include: washing dishes, kitchen prep and retail cash register. As the weather changes more outside jobs open up.

    Moose Hill’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program provides fresh, organic produce to nearly 400 families weekly. Farm Hands work in all weather, with a positive attitude.
